Frances “Fran” Green

IRVINGTON—On Monday, February 6, Frances Green of Irvington passed away with family members at her side.

Born on February 9, 1944, Fran spent her early years in New Jersey, then moved to Maryland for most of her adult life.

She and her husband Malcolm “Mac” Green moved to Irvington, where they spent their final years.

Mac passed in 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Clouse of Arizona; her sister, Rose Marie Joseph of Maryland; and her brother, Charles Pigeon of North Carolina. She also has her stepchildren, Denise Green from Maryland, Chris Green from California, and Katie Poole from Virginia; as well as 15 grandchildren.

Fran, during her working career, taught in high school as well as being a tutor. After retiring from teaching, she became a travel agent and was able to travel all over the world, including Egypt, China, and of course Italy, being of Italian heritage.

She was very social and loved to play games. She had many friends with whom she played bridge and mahjong.

Fran attended Grace Episcopal Church volunteering for various committees. She also volunteered at the Steamboat Era Museum, and most recently she thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at “Seconds Unlimited” Thrift Shop in Kilmarnock.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday February 13, at Grace Episcopal Church in Kilmarnock.
