KILMARNOCK—Frances Ruth Jones Young, 92, of Kilmarnock died suddenly on Friday, March 5, 2021. She was the daughter of the late John Hobert Jones and Susan Emma Bertha Morgan Jones.
Frances was loved by many and the void she leaves behind will be filled with incredible memories created by being in her presence. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great friend.
She taught school in a two-room schoolhouse, worked on a farm, and had various other jobs in life, but nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She was very proud of the life that she lived and we were very blessed to have her with us for 92 years. The tough times never made her jaded.
She enjoyed teaching her friends to crochet, loved to watch game shows from the past, loved piano music, red birds, red roses and our large Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings and most of all her family.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted Jones and Fred Jones; her granddaughter, Melissa Kitts; and grandson, Kevin Kitts.
Frances is survived by her daughters, Ann Meekins and Claudette Kitts and her husband, M C Kitts; her four grandsons, Alton Meekins, Alex Meekins, Keith Kitts and Kenyon Kitts; two great-grandsons, Dylan and Eyan Kitts; her sister-in-law, Nancy Combs Jones; her niece, Jennifer Jones Webster and her husband, Chris Webster (deceased) and their children, Doug and Rachel; her nephew, Mark Jones and his wife, Linda Jones and their son, Cody.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews. Burial followed at H. C. Smither Memorial Cemetery, Hudgins.
