REEDVILLE—A memorial convoy for Franklin H. Grant, 78, of Reedville was held from 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday, September 27, and will be held again on October 4, on Main Street in Reedville. Flash your lights and let the family know you are there.
Franklin Harrison Grant, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, was born to Melvin Harrison and Irene (Garrett) Grant on September 14, 1942. He passed away on September 23, 2020.
Franklin retired from the Howard County Police Department in Maryland where he served his community for 26 years. He was an avid reader and musician, who played the guitar, banjo, mandolin and the bass fiddle. He was known by many as the “Guitar Man.”
He enjoyed treasure hunting, fishing, collecting antiques and was an antique dealer. He was a painter and accomplished photographer. Even though Frank suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, he worked hard to do the things he loved. He was a long time member of the Memory Lane Car Club, Corvette Club and an American Red Cross Volunteer of 15 years. He was a lover of classic cars and his pets.
He was a gentle, loving man with quite a unique sense of humor.
Franklin leaves to cherish his precious memories, his wife of 52 years, Shirley Anne (Carter) Grant; children, Theresa Marie Grant and her partner, Allen Roberts; daughter, Lisa Diane (Grant) Vail and her husband, George Vail, and granddaughters, Haven and Jordan Vail; and son, Christopher Harrison Grant and partner, Liza Beltle and son, George, grandchildren, Aleczander, Donovan and Alison and their mother, Brenda Taylor.
