The Virginia Writers Series, sponsored by the Friends of Belle Isle, will continue from 2-4 p.m. April 12 at Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster. The featured writer will be Cindy L. Freeman.
Described as a “literary late bloomer,” Freeman didn’t get around to writing her first novel until after retiring from a long career in music education and music ministry, but she’s been writing poems, stories and journal entries since youth. Along with being a novelist, she also is a blogger, award-winning essayist and an editor for High Tide Publications.
