Gallery windows mimic the season

The RAL Art Center gallery windows at 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, will have a split personality this month as the window artist of the month shares space with the “Snowmageddon” snowman competition.

 “Snowmageddon” is the RAL Art Center’s challenge to their member artists to create a   snowman, or woman, in the style of a famous artist, reported Ellen Huddy of the communications team. 

“How would Picasso interpret a snowman? Or Van Gogh, or Monet? There is a collection of amazing sculptures of different snowmen featured in the gallery windows as well as inside around the gallery,” said Huddy.

Among them patrons can spot Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus,” a snow-woman created by Dale Coburn, one of RAL’s managers, and her family, continued Huddy.  This creative sculpture was inspired by Dale, with her husband engineering…
