George A. Moore

WHITE STONE—George Allen Moore of White Stone left this world on April 20, 2022. He was born March 23, 1939, in Petersburg.

He was in the Army during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a chemist at Allied Chemical and later as an electrician at DuPont and retired from Park 500.

George was a member of Colonial Heights American Legion, holding many offices. George always enjoyed sports. He played softball, bowling, tennis, but most of all golf. He was so happy when he had two holes in one. He collected many trophies.

George was a happy fellow who loved a good joke.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nell Dance Moore; his father, George Edwin Moore; brothers, Glenn Moore (Dorothy) and Donald Earl Moore; sister, Norma Dodson; and a nephew, Mark Dodson.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dianne Delano Moore; stepson, Robert Lewis Francis; grandson, Michael D. Priddy; sister-in-law, Patsy S. Moore; nieces, Valarie Squerciati (John), Cara Moore, Jean Dutton and Joann Mayes (Jimmy); nephews, Glenn Moore Jr. (Betty) and Tommy Moore (Lynn). He also leaves behind many friends, neighbors and extended family whom he loved dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
