WEEMS—George Christopher Henry Sr., of Weems died November 29, 2016, at Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital, Kilmarnock.
He was born September 8, 1962, in Kilmarnock to Ann Henry and the late George Diggs Jr.
George was educated in Lancaster, graduating in the Class of 1982. He was an active basketball player, enjoyed golfing and fishing.
George was employed at the Newport News Shipyard, Haynesville Correctional Center and a director of catering at the Compass Food Group.
George also was predeceased by four brothers, George L., Jalen, Jeremy and Albert; and a sister, Angela.
He is survived by his daughter, Jasmine; sons, George Christopher Jr., and Eric Henry; a granddaughter, Amiyah; fiancé; Ella Mae Veney; mother, Ann Henry; stepmother, Mary Lou Diggs; brothers, Michael, Julius, Shawn, Donavan, Jerran, Dwayne, Jamaal and Jonathan; and sisters, Cheryl, Cyntha, Terraine, Trellanie, Tisa , Adrienne and Tasha.
A funeral was held December 4 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church, White Stone. Interment followed at the church.
