George E. Jackson

KING GEORGE—George Edward “Jack” Jackson of King George died April 5, 2023.

He was born on November 9, 1948, to Clarence P. Jackson and the late Ida Mae Jackson of Dahlgren.

He attended Ralph Bunche in Edgehill and graduated from King George High School in 1968. He enlisted in the Air Force and served a four-year tour of duty. He worked at the Naval Base in Dahlgren for a year and then moved on to work in Washington, D.C. with the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 30 years.

George was a member of Little Ark Baptist Church. He was a member of the usher board and the Young Men’s Jubilee Choir, a deacon and chairman.

George was the past master of King George Masonic Lodge #314 and a member for 40 years, and a member of Guiding Star Chapter 216 (OES) for 35 years. He served as district deputy grand master for District #29 for 12 years. He was also a member of Fredericksburg Consistory #346. He had the role of past commander-in-chief. George was a member of King George American Legion for 30 years, King George’s NAACP and a member of the Ralph Bunche Alumni Association.

George is survived by his father Clarence P. Jackson, Virginia; sons, Antonio Jordan of Bowling Green and Patrick Jackson of Waldorf, Md.; two grandsons, Marcel and Chase Jordan; siblings, Carolyn Milton, Maryland, Shirley Jackson, Maryland, Hazel Robinson, Maryland, Sheila Jackson, Maryland, and Willie Jackson, Virginia.

A service was held April 15 at King George Middle School, King George. Interment followed in Little Ark Baptist Church Cemetery.
