NEWPORT NEWS—Gladys Naomi Pittman, also known to many as “Becky,” passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, at the Warwick Forest nursing facility in Newport News, at the age of 89.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sr.; and her son, Bernard Pittman.
She is survived by her sister, Janet Dryden; her children, Charles Jr. (Marianne), Jimmy, Teresa (Keith), Stevie (Lisa) and Bonnie (Gerry); 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Gladys looked forward to reading her Bible and going to church on Sundays. She lived her life deep in her faith.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Morattico Baptist Church.
