Greene to address ways to incorporate native plants in the landscape

The Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society will host a meeting and program from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Center Drive, Kilmarnock.

Native plant landscape designer Denise Greene will address ways to incorporate native plants into the landscape. She also will review the planting conditions many face locally and offer suggestions on native trees, shrubs and perennials that thrive here.

For many years, Greene was the owner/grower/operator of Sassafras Farm Nursery in Hayes where she grew over 150 species of perennials native to the Eastern US.
