Habitat helping veteran with home renovations

LANCASTER—Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity (LNHFH) staff and volunteers will replace windows, install siding and doors and rebuild an access ramp for a veteran at his home in Lancaster over the next few months.

The couple wants to stay in their home, but were not able to make the extensive renovations needed themselves, reported LNHFH board member and publicity committee chairman Marty Dwyer.

They applied for and received a federal grant for veterans through Chesapeake Bank, and the bank asked LNHFH executive director Tommy Hemans if Habitat could supervise….
