LANCASTER—Based on his July arrest by the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office for soliciting a minor for sex, Motley Allen Haynie, 29, of Heathsville was arraigned August 27 in Lancaster General District Court on two misdemeanor charges of violating good behavior.

A hearing was scheduled for November 6. He remains in custody at Pamunkey Regional Jail in Hanover County.

In September 2023, Haynie, a former deputy in Lancaster County, pleaded guilty to misdemeanors for solicitation of prostitution and contributing to the delinquency of a minor and was sentenced to 24 months with all but three months suspended. As part of the plea agreement, Haynie was ordered to complete counseling and remain of peace and good behavior. A status hearing related to those charges will be held on the same date.
