TAPPAHANNOCK—Virginia State Police (VSP) on Wednesday, November 10, reported a fatality resulting from a two-vehicle accident on the Downing Bridge.
At 8:05 p.m. on Monday, November 8, VSP responded to a crash on the Downing Bridge, according to VSP 1st Sgt. Dylan Davenport.
The preliminary investigation indicated a Dodge pickup was traveling east on Route 360 when it crossed the centerline and struck a Chevrolet sedan heading west. The Dodge subsequently overturned coming to rest on its wheels.
All three occupants were transported for treatment of serious injuries. Jacob R. Ristau, 20, of Hague succumbed to his injuries, said 1st Sgt. Davenport. He was driving the Chevrolet and was traveling with a passenger.
The investigation is ongoing.
