Heathsville Farmers Market will offer brickmaking and living history encampment

Children enjoy brickmaking.

The Heathsville Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, September 18, at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.

As part of the market, members from historical groups will stage a “living history” encampment, said executive director Corinne Becker. Groups representing the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War and Black history are expected to participate. A display of historical flags also will be on view.

There will be a special demonstration on brickmaking and the public will be allowed to try their own hand at making bricks, said Becker.
