BALTIMORE, MD.—Henry Daniel Cox of Baltimore, Md., died May 4, 2018.
He was born September 24, 1924, to the late Daniel and Elsie Cox of Northumberland County.
He was educated at the Olive Elementary School and Julius Rosenwald High School. He later attended barber school.
Henry was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wicomico Church and later the Christian Community Church of God in Baltimore.
He held various jobs, including 18 years as a custodian at Carver Vocational Technical School in the Baltimore City Public School system.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; son, Maurice Cox, daughters, Audrey Hicks and Henrietta Blake; grandchildren, Sharifa Cox and Nicholas Hines; great-granddaughter Maya Cole; goddaughter, Andrea Curtis; brother, Charles Cox; and sisters, Elizabeth King, Louise Palmer and Roxie Bachman.
He was predeceased by a sister, Ella Washington.
A memorial service was held May 12 at Christian Community Church of God. A funeral was held May 14 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery.
