If Isaac Hernandez was only 18 and a betting man, he should definitely play the lottery this week.

Hernandez made one of the rarest shots in golf—the odds vary from 1,000,000/1 to 6,000,000/1 depending on the course—during a Lancaster High School match against Essex September 16. The LHS sophomore sank a double eagle, also known as an albatross, on hole #2 at the Golden Eagle.
“He was about 200 yards out and hit his five iron just short of the green,” said coach Rob Pittman. “It took a bounce up and hit the pin and went in and I started to scream. I don’t think he realized it happened until I yelled and he was still kind of in shock until he pulled his ball out of the hole.”
A double eagle, even rarer than a hole in one, is a three-under par on a par 5 hole or an ace on a par 4. Hole #2 at the Golden Eagle Golf Course is a par 5.
Hernandez finished with the match low 38 on nine holes to lead Lancaster to a win over Essex, 188-200….
