Lancaster runs third in boys cross country

Missing several key runners, the Lancaster High School boys cross country team finished third among three teams at a four-school meet in Middlesex last week.

The host Chargers, behind medalist Cameron Lambert, narrowly edged second place King William by a point. Middlesex had three runners in the top five to score a low 27 points, while the Cavaliers scored 28. Lancaster finished with 85. Essex did not have enough runners to score as a team.

Lambert won the race eight seconds ahead of runner-up Trent Mace of King William. Lambert ran the 3.1 mile course in 17:37 and Mace 17:45.
