Given COVID-19 and our social distancing struggles, this is the strangest spring most of us have endured.
But to all of nature, it is business as usual. Trees are leafing out, flowers are blooming, days are getting warmer—there is no better time to get outside and enjoy our public areas. And no better places than Belle Isle State Park, Chilton Woods State Forest and four Virginia Natural Area Preserves—Hickory Hollow, Hughlett Point, Dameron Marsh and Bush Mill Stream. Most of us have more free time than ever and visiting one of these local areas is perfect and easy to keep distance between you and others.
