WHITE STONE—Virginia State Police (VSP) are still searching for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident which closed the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for nearly three hours on Friday, August 1.

According to VSP public relations director Robin Lawson, police are asking the public for assistance in locating a silver/gray pickup truck pulling a large Salem camper. That vehicle was traveling westbound from Middlesex County to Lancaster County on the bridge at approximately 6 p.m. when it crossed the centerline and sideswiped a van going in the opposite direction, which caused a collision between the van and an on-coming SUV. The drivers were taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries, said Lawson.
