Stewart Hollingsworth received Chesapeake Academy’s Tidewater Foundation Scholarship at the 2016 commencement ceremony.
The Tidewater Foundation award is given to a returning student in middle school whose scholarship, citizenship and community spirit consistently benefit Chesapeake Academy, reported head of school Julianne Keese.
The foundation is committed to the promotion of cultural enrichment opportunities and quality education throughout the Northern Neck and Tidewater region and supports these initiatives with grants derived from the proceeds of the Holly Ball.
Chesapeake Academy is fortunate to receive one of these grants each year which funds this scholarship, she said.
Hollingsworth, a rising seventh-grader, is praised by his faculty for his positive outlook, his earnest commitment to learning and his consistent contributions to a collegial learning community.
He is the son of Chesapeake Academy alumni Phoebe Rittenhouse Hollingsworth, Class of 1990 and Michael Ashton Raymond Kendall (Mark) Hollingsworth, Class of 1986.
