Indians crush Red Devils, 38-18

Northumberland kept Lancaster scoreless in the first half and went on to spoil the Red Devils homecoming with a 38-18 win in a Northern Neck District varsity football opener on Friday, October 11.

The Indians came up with an impressive red zone stand in the first quarter and turned a turnover into a score late in the second to take a 12-0 lead into the half.

Lancaster took the opening kick and marched to the NHS 6-yard line, working nearly seven minutes off the clock, when Northumberland took over on downs and marched 97 yards in three minutes to get six off a 21-yard hookup from quarterback Jasir Smith to Bryant Lane.
