Indians take two soccer wins over Devils

Northumberland used a couple of late game goals to win back-to-back outings against Lancaster in varsity boys soccer last week. The Indians won 3-2 and 4-2.

The Red Devils and Indians were locked at 1-1 at the break in their first meeting April 24 after first half goals by Lancaster’s Henry Smith and Northumberland’s Bay Wiggins. Jalen Forrest had the assist on Smith’s goal.

Lancaster drew a red card 10 minutes into the second half and was forced to play a man down for the final 30 minutes opening the way for a go-ahead goal by Northumberland’s Harry Lee with six minutes remaining. Wiggins hit again a minute and 10 seconds later.

Smith scored unassisted for LHS with two minutes to play.
