Informational meeting to address Middlesex architectural heritage

Middlesex County historic structures span from the 1700s through the 1900s.

These buildings are full of architectural details that set them apart from modern homes, reported Middlesex County Museum director Holly Horton.

With elements such as handmade bricks, ornamental embellishments of crown molding, wainscoting, corbels, and hand blown glass in their doors and windows, they are full of charm and pedigreed presence, said Horton. They also tell stories of past residents and their lives in Middlesex.

The museum will host a related informational meeting at 3 p.m. August 9 at the historic County Courthouse, 877 General Puller Highway, Saluda.
