Michael and Mae Umphlett of Kilmarnock announce the engagement of their granddaughter, Morgan Hayes Whaley, to Grady Patrick Fitzwater.
Morgan is the daughter of Todd and Britt Whaley and the sister of Brennen Whaley and his wife, Julia. She is the granddaughter of the late Stan and Thelma Wood and Barnett Whaley.
Grady is the son of the late Michael and Elizabeth Fitzwater, and the son of Shelley Fitzwater. He is the brother of Graham, Mary, Ella and Andrew. He is the grandson of Betty Bartlett and the late Charles Bartlett, and the late Hugh and Carolynne Fitzwater.
Both Morgan and Grady are graduates of James Madison University. Morgan is a licensed CPA and tax senior at Ernst & Young. Grady serves as vice president of Special Events Virginia.
The couple plans to marry in March 2027 in Portsmouth.
