Interfaith Service Council report

Interfaith does more!

You may know The Lancaster/Northumberland Interfaith Service Council from dropping furniture donations at the warehouse at 1086  Harris Road, Kilmarnock, or from seeing one of the many wheelchair ramps or roofs the construction crew has put on a home in need, but Interfaith provides more than just these wonderful services.

“This summer we had a surplus of sleeping bags and heavy woolen blankets,” said Susan Werderman. “We coordinated with our friends at Let Us Talk Ministries, whose mission is to support the homeless population, and donated 50 blankets to their homeless mission. We have recently been reaching out to other charitable groups to make sure all donations at Interfaith are getting to the best resources to help our neighbors in need.”

To volunteer or seek services, call 435-9000 and leave a message. To drop furniture or household items, visit the warehouse from 10 a.m.-noon Mondays and Wednesdays.

“We happily accept volunteers for Mondays and Wednesdays,” said Werderman.
