IRVINGTON—Short-term rentals (STR) remain a topic of contention in Irvington as residents voiced their concerns regarding density issues within the Vineyard Grove community during a Tuesday, April 4, planning commission meeting.
With two conditional use permit (CUP) applications for STRs up for public hearing, a number of residents spoke in opposition of a proposal from Crab Trap LLC to operate an STR at 31 Spring Street in Vineyard Grove.
Lynn Beasley said there are far too many STRs within the neighborhood. Beasley referred to the town’s ordinance that caps the number of STRs allowed within the town at 10% of the number of properties in Irvington. She asked that the commission consider extending the 10% cap into neighborhoods….
