IRVINGTON—The Irvington Town Council on Thursday, June 18, adopted a fiscal year 2026-27 budget totaling $631,401.
The new budget represents a $28,196 increase over the 2025-26 spending plan of $603,205. Primary increases reflect employee and office expense projections.
Prior to the second reading of the budget, resident George Kuper spoke against its adoption. The community is being overtaxed and it appears the council is squirreling away funds for projects residents are unaware of, he said.
As the head of the finance committee, Mary Cary Bradley said money is not being squirreled away, however, it may seem that there is “padding to the budget” due to lack of direction and determination of what will be needed….
