Irvington planning commission considers capital funding priorities

IRVINGTON—With budget planning for the upcoming fiscal year in full swing, the Irvington planning commission is prioritizing capital improvement projects for town council’s consideration.

On Tuesday, April 1, chairman Tom Chapman highlighted several key capital projects for budget consideration to coincide with the comprehensive plan.

Capital project budget priorities typically project five years of expenditures, said Chapman. He suggested earmarking $5,000 every other year for related projects and upkeep.

He also noted high ranking priorities should include Christmas decorations and flags, broadband and cell reception improvement, traffic calming measures and additional sidewalks.
