• Irvington STR ordinance set for joint public hearing

IRVINGTON—Following a year of discussions, meetings and workshops, the Irvington Town Council is preparing to finalize its policies regarding short term rentals (STR).

Council, with the help of town attorney Andrew McRoberts, hashed out several final details of the proposed STR ordinance on Wednesday, August 17.

After fielding stipulation requests over the past several months from the STR committee, McRoberts said the proposed ordinance to regulate STRs will include an overnight occupancy limit of nine people per dwelling, a cap of 35 homes throughout town qualifying for a conditional use permit to operate as an STR, and a strictly enforced registry each STR must comply with.
