Irvington to honor community volunteers and Tides Inn at July 3 Hometown Parade

The Town of Irvington will celebrate the contributions of three exceptional community volunteers and an iconic business at its Hometown Parade beginning at 3 p.m. July 3 on King Carter Drive.

The parade also will feature decorated bicycles and golf carts, pets, classic cars and floats from businesses and more, said Judy Penniman, Irvington councilwoman and chairman of the special events committee which is sponsoring the event.

The honorees are Mary Anne Campbell, resident honoree; Susan Edmonds, Irvington Village Improvement Association (VIA) Volunteer of the Year; Doug Monroe, Chesapeake Academy All-Star, and The Tides Inn, Irvington Virginia Business Association (IVBA) Business of the Year….
