IRVINGTON—The Irvington Town Council on Thursday, February 10, put a cork in moving forward with a special ABC town event license after several concerns regarding safety were expressed by residents.
Several weeks ago, planning commission member Albert Pollard Jr. suggested the town look into obtaining the event license to benefit commerce and camaraderie within the town. Dustin Taylor, an ABC special agent for the region, attended a portion of the town council meeting via phone last week to discuss the license and answer any questions.
According to Taylor, the license allows localities to designate up to 16 events per year when alcohol can be consumed throughout the town and be carried from one ABC licensed establishment to another or to a non-ABC license holding location within a designated boundary.
Taylor said he had spoken to members of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office for input….
