KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster school board on Monday, February 14, shared a proposed operating budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year. Superintendent Dan Russell walked the school board through the preliminary $18,994,581 budget, an increase of $1,844,913 or 10.84% from the current budget.
Russell said he is recommending a 7% pay increase (5.5% increase plus a 1.5% step) for teachers because “if we want to continue to hire the best and retain the best we need to continue to fight for salary increases.” All other staff would receive a 5% increase.
“This will take us to a starting salary of $44,546 and puts us in good shape to reach our fiscal year 2026 goal…..
