Irvington Turkey Trot proclaimed a ‘big deal’

Irvington’s annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot is featured in the new edition of Virginia Town & City, the magazine of the Virginia Municipal League, as one of the “big deals”  happening in some of Virginia’s small towns.

The article by Turkey Trot race director Michelle Lybarger tells the story of the event which attracts hundreds of runners and walkers from across the Northern Neck and beyond to the streets of Irvington. 

“The event is more than a race; it’s a reflection of community spirit, committed volunteers and hard work,” Lybarger wrote. “Furthermore, the event is a vivid demonstration of how even the smallest of towns can make big things happen.”
