
WALKERTON—Jack D. Eades, 93, of Walkerton went home to be with the Lord on May 19, 2023.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Elaine; his sister, Nancy Holcomb; his daughter, Beverly Horner (Dean); his sons, Kenny Eades (Sue) and Kevin Eades; four beloved grandchildren, Jennie Kover (Dave), Gary Mothershead (Jenny), Ryan Eades (Beth) and Lauren Thrift (Michael); and seven great-grandchildren.
Jack was born on November 28, 1929, in Ansted, W.Va. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, and went on to teach physical education at Northumberland High School in Heathsville. While at Northumberland, he served as football, baseball, track and JV basketball coach. He was also the principal of Callao Elementary School, Northumberland High School, and assistant superintendent of King and Queen County Public Schools.
He completed his career employed by the Virginia Department of Education in Administrative Review, Accreditation and Evaluation.
Jack attended Bruington Baptist Church where he served as a deacon as well as Sunday school secretary. Jack will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and coach, who had a positive impact on all who knew him.
Services were held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at Bruington Baptist Church, 4784 The Trail, Bruington.
