HEATHSVILLE—James Preston “J.P.” Bryant Sr., 88, of Heathsville passed away on July 6, 2018. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ethel L. Bryant; three sons, Preston Bryant Jr. (Betty), Mark L. Bryant and Kim H. Bryant (Angela); nine grandchildren, Cindy Lee, Holly, April, Matthew, Kayla, Jesse, Robyn, Carol and Johnny; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; son-in-law, Eddie Lipscomb; and sister, Katherine Wilkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse James Bryant and Agnes Estelle Bryant; and daughter, Kaye Marie Lipscomb.
He loved to travel and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Wicomico United Methodist Church.
