Jamie D. Nichols

Jamie D. Nichols

WHITE STONE—On Thursday, September 30, 2021, Jamie D. “Grumpy” Nichols, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away at the age of 67 in White Stone.

Jamie was born on August 2, 1954, in Glasgow to James and Gertrude Nichols.  The youngest of five children, he grew up in Montana. He met the love of his life, Teri, in Arizona and married in 1974. Together they raised two sons, Michael and Jared.

Jamie was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Howard, and sister, Carol.

He is survived by his wife, Teri; sons, Michael (Jennifer) and Jared (Kimberly); four grandchildren, Jamie, Jacob, James and Adain; and sisters, Gloria and Janice.

Jamie was a carpenter most of his life. He loved to build and was very talented at most everything he did. He loved to spend time at his Rivah house, kayaking, biking, exploring and taking care of his beautiful property.

He was a man of simplicity and few wants. He loved the Lord, his family, his old red truck, the smell of freshly cut lumber in his shop, and the peace and tranquility of being at the river. His desire was that when he left this earth, he would do so at the river. He was blessed, indeed.

We will miss him—his smile, the twinkle in his eye and especially, his sense of humor. Rest easy sweet Grumpy, we will hold you in our hearts forever.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 23, at Keystone Antique Truck and Tractor Museum banquet hall, 880 West Roslyn Road, Colonial Heights, VA  23834. Please dress comfortably.
