MILLENBECK—Janice Davenport Walker, born June 30, 1933, to parents James Basil Davenport and Lillian Irene Davenport, passed away on June 7, 2023.
Janice was a lifelong resident of Millenbeck and loved where she was from and the people she grew up around.
She was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Corrottoman Baptist Church for much of her life.
Janice had a deep passion for traveling with her husband and noted Alaska and England as some of her favorite destinations. She also loved puzzles and word searches, which she continued doing well into her 80s. Perhaps her favorite activity, though, was time with her family.
She was preceded in death by beloved husband, Eugene Carlton Walker, who passed in 2012 after a marriage of over 60 years; and their infant daughter, as well as her parents.
She is survived by her three children, James Carlton (Pamela) Walker, Sherry (Michael) Germain and Meriam (Ons) Driss. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Everett Walker, Stefanie (Patrick) Timberlake, Amanda Faulkner, Dara (Tony) Anthony, Salima Driss and Youssef Driss; and great-grandchildren, Mikey, Isaac, Christian, Thomas and Jackson.
A graveside service, where Janice was laid to rest, was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Corrottoman Baptist Church Cemetery.
