KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster school board on Monday, October 3, appointed Jessica Davis superintendent.
Making the announcement, board chairman Joan Gravatt said, “Jessica guided us through a very difficult period and we thank her for the continuity she provided. Lancaster schools are in very capable hands.”
Davis, who was appointed acting superintendent in April after then-superintendent Dan Russell had a stroke, thanked the board for their “faith and trust in me to carry out this position. Our students, families and staff in Lancaster County deserve the very best and it was really important to Mr. Russell that our community had facilities that represented the work of education and what we are providing our kids. We will continue to carry on with this. We will also continue to find ways to improve so our kids have the best education, our staff has a good workplace, and our families are proud of what their kids are doing in school every day….
