Mention the name Jimmie Jett in Northumberland County and it’s sure to spark a conversation about successful Indian coaches. Last weekend, the decorated former NHS coach was honored not only for his coaching prowess but for his playing ability as well.
Jett of Village on November 4 was inducted into the Ferrum College Alumni Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2017. He was one of five Ferrum alums to be inducted during a luncheon then honored later that day during halftime of Ferrum’s football game against Greensboro College.
“I was surprised [when I was notified],” said Jett. “It was a great honor and I really appreciated it.”
