OTTOMAN—John Robert McCarty, 80, of Ottoman passed away December 22, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Norwood McCarty; his mother, Mary Haynie McCarty; and sister, Mary Alice Glancy.
Surviving is a son, retired U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Robert Don McCarty (Ann) of Lompoc, Calif.; a daughter, Kelly McCarty Sanders (Lee) of Warsaw; three grandchildren, U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Adam McCarty (Amanda), Chelsea McCarty (David) and Garnet (Jackie); three great-grandchildren Addison McCarty, Audrey McCarty and Wrenn Sanders and four nieces and nephews.
John spent most of his life pursuing his love for farming.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 29, at St. Mary’s White Chapel Episcopal Church, Lively. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
