RICHMOND—Josaline Rosaleen “Josie” Murphy died Wednesday, August 16, 2023.
She was born on November 14, 1990, in Baltimore, Md., to Reche Murphy and Teresa Dorsey.
Josie was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, where she served as a choir member. She was educated in the Lancaster Public Schools. Later, she completed an online course receiving her GED, which allowed her to march at the Virginia Union Campus with her “Big Sis.”
Her employment history included the healthcare industry as a CNA and retail as a cashier.
Josie was proceeded in death by her grandmother, Lastella Harris.
She is survived by her mother, Teresa Waller; daughter, Jahmia Murphy; son, Corigan Murphy; four sisters, Mia Waller-Horton, LaDawn Redmond, Dominique Waller, and Kelly Murphy; and two brothers, Mark Waller and Ralph Waller Jr.
A funeral was held Saturday, September 2, at Campbell Funeral Home, Kilmarnock.
