NEW YORK, NY—Joycellyn Marie Cox was born August 6, 1951, in Kilmarnock to Theresa Bea Cox and the late Jacob Cox.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kilmarnock and received her formal education in the Lancaster County Public School System. She later moved to New York City and received her GED.
Joycellyn worked at the YWCA in Summit, N.J., until she retired in 2007.
Joycellyn is preceded in death by her father, Jacob Cox; her grandparents; and her partner, Yvonne Overby.
Joycellyn leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Theresa Cox; the children of her partner, Khadijah Overby, N.Y., and Mark Overby, Calif.
Services were held at noon Friday, October 14, at Calvary Baptist Church, Kilmarnock.
