Lancaster added three more state qualifiers and had distance runner Matthew Kane break his own school record last weekend at the Christopher Newport University High School Showcase.
Kane shaved five seconds off his own school record, running the 1600 meter in 4:32.14 as the runner-up. Josh Woolard also took 12 seconds off his best 1600-meter time. Running the race in 4:48.16 to finish eighth and post a state-qualifying time.
The Red Devils also pre-qualified the 4X400 meter boys team for the Class 1/2 state meet. Porter Pittman, Brooks Parker, Trajan Waddy and Creston Saunders ran the race in 3:50.24 for an 11th place….
