OPHELIA—Katherine Hagerty Goddard of Ophelia died Monday, October 4, 2021.
Katherine was born September 27, 1942, to Rolla and Dorothy Hagerty of Ottawa, Kansas. She graduated from Ottawa High School.
Katherine married John Goddard on October 6, 1988. Katherine retired from working as a legal secretary at the Law Offices of Irl Silverstein in Gretna, Louisiana, prior to moving to Ophelia in 1994.
She enjoyed crafting with flowers. She was always sure to have a new flower arrangement for each holiday. She was a great baker and enjoyed sharing her baked goods. However, she truly enjoyed the simple things in life.
Katherine was predeceased by her parents and four of her sisters. June (2013), Sue (2014), Jane (2021) and Sandy (2021).
Katherine leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband, John L. Goddard; her sister, Annadell Potts of Austin, Texas; children, Paul (Donna) Beebe of Abita Springs, La., and Julie (Dwight) Weicht of Heathsville; grandchildren, Ashley (Gary) Prescott, Audrey Beebe, Jessica and Cody Weicht; stepchildren, Joy (Bob) Ballenger of Riverside, Calif. and Beth Goddard of Metairie, La; step-grandchildren, Stephanie Ballenger, and Andrew (Sarah) Ballenger; and three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Hunter and Remington.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 9, at Currie Funeral Home. Interment followed at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville. Family received friends one hour prior to the service.
