KILMARNOCK—Keith Butler resigned his position on the Kilmarnock Town Council Monday evening. Butler said he is in the process of moving out of Kilmarnock, and therefore could no longer serve on the town’s governing body.
“I really enjoyed serving on the town council for the last six years. It’s been a learning and growing experience, a great opportunity for me,” said Butler. “I really feel privileged that I was able to serve the citizens of Kilmarnock.”
According to town manager Susan Cockrell, council will appoint someone to fill Butler’s seat until the next election cycle in November, when the citizens of Kilmarnock will elect someone to the position.
