The Town of Kilmarnock has rescheduled a special meeting from Thursday, June 25 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 29, at Town Hall, 1 North Main Street, Kilmarnock
This meeting is to conduct the second reading and adoption of the fiscal year 2020-21 budget and to readopt its tax rate and fee structure.
There are no changes from the current fiscal year. As proposed, the general fund budget totals $2,899,494, the water fund, $400,238, and the sewer fund, $1,592,791, for a total of $4,892,523. The proposed tax rates are $.0937 per $100 of assessed real estate and $.16 per $100 of assessed personal property. A copy of the proposed budget and rates appeared in the June 11 Rappahannock Record.
Council also will conduct a second reading and adopt an ordinance amending the current budget to incorporate to accept CARES Act funding from Lancaster and Northumberland counties. Copies of these ordinances are available at the Town Hall.
