King celebration set at Angel Visit Baptist

Angel Visit Baptist Church will host the 34th annual Essex County Community Celebration of the Life and Work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 7 p.m. Monday, January 16, at 29566 Tidewater Trail, Dunnsville. The theme will be “Remember and Respond.”

“Yearly we remember the works of Dr. King, set aside this day and celebrate,” said Dr. Carl E. Lightfoot, pastor. “The real question becomes, how do we respond? As we remember, let us not only hear, but let us do. In the book of James 1:22-25, we learn that if we only hear and do nothing, then we deceive ourselves…But the doer of the work is blessed in what he does.
