Lady Devils add a win and a loss heading into final stretch

A six-run first-inning proved too much for Washington & Lee to overcome as Lancaster picked up its fifth straight win last Tuesday. The Lady Devils beat the Eagles, 9-4.

Northumberland stumped Lancaster for a second time this season last Thursday to end the LHS winning streak. But the Lady Devils remain in the top half of the district standings with a 5-4 record heading into the final week of regular season play. Lancaster will host Middlesex today, June 3, and Northumberland Tuesday, June 8.

Lancaster 9, Washington & Lee 4

After spotting the Eagles a run in the top of the first, the Lady Devils batted through the lineup in their first trip to the plate, scoring six runs on six hits, a walk and hit batter.

Lancaster tallied 13 hits in the game with the majority coming in a first-inning onslaught.
