The Lancaster High School girls won six events to score 145 points and lead six teams at a track and field meet Wednesday, April 13, at Charles City.
Maggie Walker was second in girls scoring with 105 points and host Charles City and Northumberland tied for third with 51 points.
Deja Brown and Hailey Smith led the LHS girls team. Brown scored in both track and field events, winning both the 100 meter (19.38) and 300 meter (56.11) hurdles. She cleared 4’0” as the runner-up in the high jump and cleared 5’0” for fourth place in the pole vault. She went 27’10” for fifth place in the triple jump.
Smith led Lancaster’s middle and distance runners, winning the 800 meter in 2:24.57 and the mile in 5:29.46.
