There was little rest over the holiday break for the Lancaster High School varsity girls basketball team, which played five games in 11 days.
The Lady Devils played three games during the final week of school before break, including two on the road at Nandua and West Point.
Lancaster headed to the Eastern Shore December 17 where they beat the host Warriors, 56-23. Nealasia Redmond and Khalia Harding combined to score more than Nandua’s total. The two put up 31 points with Harding scoring 17 and Redmond 14.
Harding did the bulk of her scoring in the first half with 15 points, including nine in the first quarter when Lancaster took a 16-10 lead. The Lady Devils got six points from Harding in the second when they opened the lead with a 12-6 run.
Lancaster led 37-22 at the end of three then held Nandua to a single free throw shot in the fourth during a 19-1 run that included eight points from Redmond. Redmond was perfect from the line, going 6-for-6, while Harding hit 5-of-9 on the night.
